Our Staff

Oversight and Administration

Responsibility for the day to day administration of the work of Mission Overseas lies with our full time staff who are based in the Mission Overseas Office on the second floor of Church House, located close to Belfast City Centre [View Map].

Their work, which is varied, far-reaching in its scope and often very demanding, includes:

  • The selection, training, sending and pastoral care of our mission personnel serving overseas.

  • Maintaining relations with our mission partners overseas.

  • Providing practical advice and training to presbyteries, congregations and individuals.

  • Running events to inform and encourage those who support our Church's engagement in mission around the world.

  • Encouraging regular and focused prayer support for the work of mission overseas.

  • Handling donations designated for the support of the work of the Board; our personnel and their work; or specific mission projects overseas.

  • Regular travel to meet with mission partners; to attend conferences and consultations; and to visit our personnel in the countries where they are serving.

Our office team comprises three executive officers, who would normally be supported by five administrative/secretarial staff. A recent retirement and another individual moving on, left us for a while with only three in our Support Team. However, the number is now four, following the recent recruitment of another staff member. It is hoped that we may be able to have another individual join us in the not too distant future, to bring our Support Team back up to the level we need.

In addition to our fulltime staff, a number of volunteer helpers provide valued support.
