Pamela McCullagh

Pamela ForsterPamela grew up in Rockcorry, Co. Monaghan. Following completion of her secondary school education she moved to Glasgow to study Speech and Language Therapy at the University of Strathclyde.

While studying in Glasgow, Pamela became very involved with the Student Ministry of the Navigators, a Christian organisation that aims to help individuals and communities of believers to know Christ and make him known; this is done through one-to-one discipleship and small group Bible study.

As Pamela came to the end of her studies at University she felt a call from God to take a GAP year with The Navigators Student Ministry in Glasgow.

Following her graduation, she spent a year completing the Student Worker Programme, which involved her leading female students in Bible study and mentoring individuals.

During this year she visited Malawi, for a mission trip to another Navigator Student Ministry, and, while there, the Lord made it clear that He wanted her to return to Malawi to work with female students there.

Following a year working as a Speech and Language Therapist, Pamela moved to Malawi in January 2003, where she had the privilege to work for the next six and half years, running Bible Study groups and outreaches in schools and colleges, as well as discipling and mentoring individual women in their faith. In 2008, God raised up two Malawian young women to serve as Navigator staff and Pamela spent her final year training these women in their roles.

On leaving Malawi, the Navigators encouraged Pamela to take a sabbatical year, which led to her graduating in December 2010 with a MSc in Counselling and Therapeutic Communication from the University of Ulster.

Following this, in January 2011, she joined the Mission Overseas staff team in the 'newly created' role of Mission Overseas Training Officer.

Pamela is a member of Kirkpatrick Memorial Presbyterian Church, in Ballyhackamore (East Belfast), where her husband, David, is Licentiate Assistant.

She enjoys meeting new people, travelling, and hosting and cooking for friends.
