Support Team
The members of our secretarial and administrative Support Team all have demanding jobs and are under considerable pressure most of the time. Together, they help maintain an efficient service to our Executive Officers, as well as to members of the wider church, who contact or visit the Mission Overseas Office.
Recently, our Support Team has been below full strength, due to the loss (in August 2009) of two of its members; one through retirement, the other moving on.
However, we have been delighted to welcome Pamela Hopper to the team (October 2009) and hope that before too long we may be able to recruit a further staff member to bring our Support Team back up to the level we need.
Current members of our Support Team and their responsibilities are:
Miss Michelle McDowell
Senior Administrative Officer/Office Supervisor - Joined June 1992
Michelle provides administrative and secretarial support to Uel Marrs (Overseas Secretary); supervises and manages the staff support team; looks after day-to-day administration of all finances, including transfer of funds to personnel and partners overseas; oversees the administration of the conference and other events; arranges programmes for overseas visitors; and provides assistance to leaders-in-training.
Miss Beverley Moffett
Senior Secretary (Mission Education) - Joined September 2001
Beverley provides administrative and secretarial support to Nigel Eves (Mission Education Officer); helps produce and maintain a wide range of resources and publicity materials; assists with website updates and development; looks after deputation bookings; processes the weekly Prayerline bulletin; and assists with the administration of mission events and summer teams.
Mrs Karen Hutchinson
Senior Secretary (Mission Personnel) - Joined May 2006
Karen provides administrative and secretarial support to Helen Johnston (Mission Personnel Officer); assists in processing enquiries and applications, the organisation of retreats, training days and orientation, personnel reports and updates; liaises with travel, medical and insurance agencies on behalf of mission personnel; and assists in processing mission personnel expenses.
Miss Pamela Hopper
Secretary/Receptionist - Joined October 2009
Pamela provides clerical support to Uel Marrs(Overseas Secretary) and Michelle McDowell (Senior Administrative Officer); welcomes visitors to the Mission Overseas Office; and assists with telephone calls and enquiries. [See News Item]
