The Presbyterian Church in Ireland (PCI), supports the hospitals and schools of the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP) in Malawi, Central Africa, through the regular shipment of containers of much needed health and education supplies.
Materials for primary schools including pens, pencils and paper and medical items such as surgical gloves, needles and syringes make a great difference.
This provides a great opportunity for individuals, groups and churches to provide tangible and practical support for people in Malawi.

Malawi is a small land-locked country in southern Africa with a population of ten million people.
It has a combination of lake and mountain scenery unique in Africa, yet in the midst of beauty, there has been, in recent years, increased poverty, disease and human need.
Most people provide for their families by cultivating small plots of land. The increasing population has put a severe strain on land resources and irregular rainfall in recent years has caused major food shortages.
AIDS and HIV infection is widespread and has resulted in up to one million AIDS orphans.
