Here are answers to questions frequently asked about Containers for Malawi.
Q. Can I send items which are not on the list?
A. Yes, but it is important to ensure that the items are of high quality and that they cannot be purchased more cheaply in Malawi. Suitable items should be well packed into cardboard cartons, with a label of the contents attached and the carton sealed. The cost of sending a carton is £7 per cubic foot. Q. Can I designate an individual or an institution to receive my boxes?
A. Boxes can be sent to an institution of the CCAP if you so wish. However please do not label any items or boxes for individuals as this will cause problems when clearing the goods through customs.
Q. Can we send clothing?
A. Adult used clothing is readily available in Malawi in markets throughout the country. The cost of shipping used clothing from Ireland means it is cheaper to buy them locally. However we accept baby clothing which is packed in cardboard cartons and clearly labelled.
