Heather Lennox readjusts to life in Scotland

11th January 2010

After six years' service in Jamaica with the United Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands, Heather Lennox resigned from the Board of Mission Overseas at the end of 2009 and is now settling back into home-life in Scotland.

Heather first went to Jamaica in 2003 as Associate Regional Director of Cornwall Area Council and was very involved in all the programmes of the Church at Council level.

Later on she took up the role of Children’s Adviser to the Cornwall Area Council of the United Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands (UCJCI). This involved facilitating the development of Children’s Ministry in the island’s north-west and seeking to build up a climate of mutual trust and respect between the Church schools and the Council.

Heather completed her term of service with UCJCI last summer. During the past autumn she was on final home assignment and involved in deputation speaking up until early December. She is grateful for the support, interest and prayers of congregations and individuals in Britain and Ireland during her time in Jamaica.

We pay tribute to Heather's faithful service in Jamaica and ask that members of PCI continue to remember her as she settles back into home-life in Scotland and seeks God's guidance for what comes next.
