In Algarve, in Southern Portugal, James and Heather Cochrane’s first year with the Portuguese Bible Institute (IBP) has come to an end, and they are returning to Ireland for a short visit.
A couple of weeks ago, James completed teaching the final module of the year: an Introduction to the Old Testament. This week he finished all the marking!
The students are encouraged to have got through the year and are looking forward to a well-earned rest from study until the beginning of a new academic year, in mid-September.
Last Saturday, 3rd July, the Cochranes organised a lunch for the students at a local retreat centre and those who were able to be there had an enjoyable time of fellowship in a relaxed atmosphere.
James and Heather want to thank all those who, during the past year, have prayed for them and the strategic ministry of IBP. They greatly valued this support.
The Cochrane family leaves Portugal tomorrow, Thursday 8th July, to return to Ireland for a short home assignment.
Over the next six to seven weeks, they will be speaking about their life and ministry in Portugal in a number of churches and during this time they hope to be able to catch up with at least some of their friends and prayer supporters.
They ask for prayer for the opportunities they have to speak about God’s work in Portugal and that more people in Ireland would become burdened for this country, one of the most spiritually needy in Europe.
