

The Board of Mission Overseas of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland has announced the appointment of three new missionary personnel, all of whom will be leaving later this year to serve in Malawi.
Matt Williams has been accepted under out ‘Involve’ programme for service in Malawi, and has been invited by the Livingstonia Synod of the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP) to take up the role of lecturer in the Synod's College of Theology, which is part of the University of Livingstonia.
Matt, who is a member of Hamilton Road Presbyterian Church (Bangor), expects to leave for Malawi at the end of April.
Lyn and Johnny Dowds have also been accepted for missionary service in Malawi under our ‘Integrate’ programme, and have been invited to serve under the Livingstonia Synod (CCAP), where Lyn will be taking up the role of Medical Doctor at the David Gordon Memorial Hospital(DGMH) in Livingstonia.
The Dowds are members of Craigavon Presbyterian Church, and as part of their preparation and orientation, they are currently studying at Belfast Bible College (BBC). Along with their two children, Cody aged 5½ and Suni aged 2½, they hope to depart for Malawi in July or early August.
Presbyterian Mission Overseas currently runs three programmes for mission service overseas:
Up to one year overseas
One to two years overseas
Two or more years overseas
