

During his year as Moderator of the Presbyerian Church in Ireland, Rev Dr Stafford Carson visited the Ethiopian Kale Heywet Church, a large denomination which has received support through both the World Development and the Moderator's East Africa appeals.
During his visit, Simon Haile introduced Stafford to a programme that has enabled 275 churches in Ethiopia to reach out into their communities through self-help groups.
As a result, 70,000 households have benefited holistically, and some 2,000 people have become Christians.
In this interactive lunchtime workshop, organised by Tearfund, Stafford will interview Simon Haile and Tefera Abiche and, in the process, explore how the Ethiopian Kale Heywet Church (EKHC):
Stafford will share what he learnt from his visit and the challenges of applying it locally.
There will also be an opportunity for questions and discussion.
The seminar will take place between 12.30 pm and 2.00 pm on Thursday, 2 February 2012 at Ballyhenry Presbyterian Church, Newtownabbey.
Tickets: £5.00 per person, including lunch.
This seminar is open to anyone in paid, or voluntary, church leadership who has an interest in mission planning.
