SPAIN: Creativity, art and evangelism

30th October 2008

Grupos Biblicos Unídos (GBU) - the IFES movement in Spain - has launched a new project to reach out to university students through photography.

Using the cross as a theme, GBU is encouraging students to hold 'Photo Cruxial' exhibitions in the various cities where the movement has a presence.

Each group will organise the exhibition in the way that best suits their particular context. The hope is for each group to hold the event in a place where students visit and at a time when they will be eager to participate: perhaps in a University hallway or public area such as a café, perhaps in the context of a Bible studies series on the theme of the cross, perhaps during the Holy Week.

  • Please pray for each student group involved in this project to be creative and bold in reaching out to their campuses. Pray for permissions to hold exhibitions to be granted, for God's protection on the students, for Spirit-led conversations around them and for non-Christian students to come to God, their creator.

  • Give thanks to God for the creative initiatives of GBU Spain in reaching out to students through the arts: not only through photography, but music and painting as well. Pray for this ministry to expand and for God's guidance and leading every step of the way, to his glory.
