Primary School Education

Linda Jackson has been on the staff of Woodstock School in Mussoorie, North India, since 1996. The town of Mussoorie is some 200 miles (320 km) north of India's capital city, New Delhi, and is located in the foothills to the mighty Himalayan mountain range not far from India’s border with Nepal and China. The school buildings are scattered over a steep hillside on the outskirts of the town, at an altitude of around 6,500 feet (2,000 metres).
Established in 1854, Woodstock is a Christian, international, residential co-educational school. It's aim is to develop responsible global citizens and leaders by providing a world-class international education which is rooted in Christian values and caters for a diverse group of students from kindergarten to Grade 12, and especially those from families in Christian or public service. The school currently has some 470 students from almost 30 nations.
Linda has been Elementary School Support Teacher, involved in teaching English as a second language, acting as a learning assistant to children with special needs, and assisting with reading intervention and remedial work. She has also lead the Friendship Club for Elementary School (primary) children, an after-school activity which aims to explore the meaning of the Christian faith in an educational, yet fun environment.
Windor Presbyterian Church, Linda's home congregation, has some further information and photographs about her on their web site.
After 13 years in India, Linda completed her term of service at Woodstock in July 2009 and is now back in Belfast. We continue to support her as she undertakes further professional training and seeks God's guidance on what comes next for her.
