Naomi and Thomas Leremore returned to Kenya in early 2008 with their son Aaron.  They are currently living in Nairobi.

Naomi began a new role in training pre-school teachers for the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA).  This is an in-service programme where the students spend term time on teaching practice and come to the Lay Training Centre during the holidays in April, August and December for tuition.

Naomi is also a member of the Curriculum Committee, involved in the writing of Sunday School materials for the church.  The committee is currently rewriting Book I, which is the teacher’s manual for 4-6 year olds.  It is hoped that the book will be ready for reprinting next year.

After the 2007 post -election violence in Kenya, in which 1,500 people lost their lives and a further 600,000 were displaced, Thomas began his work establishing the PCEA Peace Desk.  His role has been to train church and community leaders on conflict resolution mechanisms and to facilitate intercommunity dialogue.  To date, 200 trainers have been trained in Conflict Management Skills.

Thomas has also been developing the Certificate and Diploma curricula on Peace and Conflict Studiesfor the Presbyterian University of East Africa (PUEA).  It is hoped that these new courses will begin in the near future.
