GBU will distribute them to students in conjunction with the 'LIFE' series and others will be given to the local churches for their use.

Prayer Points –

  • For those leading the groups that God would give them wisdom as they seek to share and teach God's Word.

  • For the students that they would be able to get to grips with the Gospel and have confidence to share it with their non-Christian friends.

Derek and Jane French are thankful to God for several first year students who will be joining the various GBU groups this year.

Prayer Points –

Day 24 – NEPAL

The group of politicians and civil servants arrived back in Kathmandu on Monday last 21st September after a very successful trip to Dublin and Belfast. Joe Campbell writes, “We are grateful to God for all the blessings of the past week. The visit has both challenged and inspired the politicians to work for the great prize of peace for the Nepali people. Everyone worked very hard and there were good relations among all the delegation. There was no sickness, we travelled in safety and people in both cities made the visitors feel very welcome.”

This week marks the beginning of the Hindu festival of Dashian spread over the next ten days. When the festival begins Nepali people clean and decorate their homes as an invitation for the mother goddess to come and bless them. These days, markets are filled with shoppers seeking new clothing, and gifts. During the festival tens of thousands of goats, buffalo, ducks and chickens are sold for sacrificing to the gods.

Janet Campbell fell in a darkened street last week and injured her ankle. It is not broken, but she has a badly torn ligament.

Prayer Points –

  • Give thanks for last week’s political visit and pray that Joe with the Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction will be able to build on the experience in support of peace and justice efforts in Nepal.  Joe has been asked to give more of his time to the ministry in their vital role in Nepal.

  • For Christians in Nepal especially those young in the faith that as they return to their village homes for the annual celebration they will be strengthened in their faith by the Holy Spirit in the face of idol worship all around them.

  • That Nepalese people will begin to question why his annual ritual has not brought true blessing and that they will cleanse their hearts and invite the living God into their homes and lives.
