GBU Groups in various universities in Spainare starting up again this week. This semester all the GBU groups in Spain will be studying John's Gospel - the series is called 'LIFE'. Every Home Crusade in Northern Ireland is sending out 100,000 copies of John's Gospel to Spain. GBU will distribute them to students in conjunction with the 'LIFE' series and others will be given to the local churches for their use.

Stephen and Angelina Cowan have been having difficulties with their satellite phone connection over the past few weeks.
Patrick Ole Kipetu, who works alongside Gary and Mary Reid in Olkinyiei, is in Nairobi this week together with Naomi Leremore. They are writing a series of Bible lessons for use in Maasai primary schools.
Rózsa Drabik, from the Hungarian Reformed Church in Hungary, and Rev Zoltán Les from the Hungarian Reformed Church in Romania, arrived safely in Belfast yesterday (22nd). They will shortly begin a full-time course of research through Union Theological College (UTC).

The group of politicians and civil servants arrived back in Kathmandu on Monday last 21st September after a very successful trip to Dublin and Belfast. Joe Campbell writes, “We are grateful to God for all the blessings of the past week. The visit has both challenged and inspired the politicians to work for the great prize of peace for the Nepali people. Everyone worked very hard and there were good relations among all the delegation. There was no sickness, we travelled in safety and people in both cities made the visitors feel very welcome.”
This week marks the beginning of the Hindu festival of Dashian spread over the next ten days. When the festival begins Nepali people clean and decorate their homes as an invitation for the mother goddess to come and bless them. These days, markets are filled with shoppers seeking new clothing, and gifts. During the festival tens of thousands of goats, buffalo, ducks and chickens are sold for sacrificing to the gods.
Janet Campbell fell in a darkened street last week and injured her ankle. It is not broken, but she has a badly torn ligament.

MOLDOVA – An all-age team from First Rathfriland Presbyterian Church is travelling to the Transnistria Regionof Moldova on Monday 28th September under the auspices of Vision of Good Hope. A team of 11 people, under the leadership of Rev Philip Thompson, will be helping to paint and decorate a new outreach centre at the House of Hope children's home, and will be visiting other projects supported by Vision of Good Hope. They fly to Ukraine, then take a bus journey across into Transnistria, a border crossing that can be complicated with long delays. The team are due to home on Tuesday 6th October.
